The author

Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
