Edwards and O'Neil Included in Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Candidates

Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the initial names in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Pereira was dismissed on the weekend after the team's ten-game winless start to the top-flight season.

And Edwards and O'Neil - both of who have historic associations to the club - are part of the names to be evaluated by the club ownership.

The manager is currently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a potential obstacle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton Town head coach - who played over a century of appearances for the club during his playing career - is considered a leading contender for the vacancy.

The mid-career manager is reportedly enjoys support from the club board as they start the process of hiring a new head coach.

O'Neil is additionally emerging as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a surprising appointment considering he was sacked by the club in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham United midfielder is out of work meaning Wolves would not be required to provide any buyout fee.
